They really seem to go hand in hand with each other. If you went to see the movie, I may not necessarily be talking about you, but you definitely have the potential. The people I am referring to are the people I hear in casual conversation everyday bringing up this stupid theory like it is real.
From this point on I will refer to these people as either the 2012ers and/or The Dumbasses.
You Dumbasses are probably the same people that built bunkers for Y2K aren’t you. How did that pan out for you? The reason I hate you is not so much because of the annoying banter you seem to love to spew on this non-subject, but the total blissful ignorance you seem to embrace as you pass along this inane theory.
Ask yourself this 2012ers, where did you get your info on this? A movie? A friend of a friend? The internet? Did you research this at all before you decided to pass along info regarding something as trivial as THE END OF THE WORLD!?! I’m willing to bet that you didn’t. You know why I am willing to? Because if you took any time to look into it, I wouldn’t be having to type this.
Let’s debunk this here and now. The Mayan calendar, that this stupid theory is based on, supposedly ends in December of 2012. Right away the first fact associated with this is wrong. The Mayan calendar does not end in 2012. It merely cycles.
Here’s a quick break down. The Mayan calendar is broken into various measurements of time two of which are Katuns (19.7 years) and Baktuns (394.3 years). We are currently currently in Baktun 12. Yes this Baktun ends in December 2012, but all that means is that Baktun 13 starts. That’s it.
Nothing happened 394 years before when the last Baktun cycled and nothing will happen when this one cycles. And it’s not even like it is a big cycle. The Mayans worked off of a Base 20 numbering system. (For the stupid, we work off a Base 10 system ie. decades/centuries/millenia) So there is no significance whatsoever to either Baktun 12 or 13 cycling.
It is basically the exact same thing as our year rotating from 1999 to 2000. It merely marked the end of the second millenia and started the third. There was no catastrophe. It’s simply numbers.
Then again this is all something you Dumbasses would know if you just took the time to read things rather then blindly regurgitate stupid shit.
