This what I like to call the iPod challenge. It is simple, to the point and its honest. No real creative effort necessary, just the balls to be honest and tell it like it is. Here’s the deal. Go to your iPod, not your iTunes, and list the songs in your Recently Played playlist. The reason I say to use your iPod rather than iTunes is because you’re more apt to play guilty pleasure songs on headphones where only you can hear them.
There are, however, a few notes. If you just listened to an album all the way through, or a bunch of songs by the same artist, your list will be boring. Therefore just list the last song by that artist and move on to the next one. No cheating! If there is a bit of Britney on there, you have to be man enough to admit it. You can’t add that indie band that gets you street cred, just because you don’t want to look like a putz. Here it goes:
Rancid- Radio
Rancid- Lets Go
Rage Against the Machine- Bullet in the Head
Arcade Fire- Intervention
Yeah Yeah Yeahs- Maps
Bloc Party- Price of Gasoline
Bloc Party- She’s Hearing Voices
Final Fantasy- Many Lives -> 49mp
Rage Against the Machine- Bombtrack
Jimmy Eat World- Kill
Dead Kennedy’s- Holiday in Cambodia
Brand New- Guernica
Final Fantasy- This is the Dream of Win & Regine
The Dodos- Fools
Arcade Fire- Keep the Car Running
Alkaline Trio- Donner Party
Alkaline Trio- Warbrain
Kanye West- Good Morning
Andrew Lloyd Webber- The Phantom of the Opera (Theme)
Fields- Isabel
Fenix TX- Phoebe Cates
Feist- My Moon My Man
The Ethiopians- Hong Kong Flu
That’s it. I dodged a lot of bullets on this one. Nothing too homo this time around, except for my affinity for Andrew Lloyd Webber. Did you make out as good?
