I know I am way late on attempting to post any original thoughts on LOST. By this time you can go to any millions of sites on LOST and get far better insight than what I have for you. Yet I do have a couple of thoughts I wanted to get out in the open. Before that though, let’s address the episode in general. As always if you are not up to date with the current episode “The Little Prince” then for you this information may be considered spoiler-like. If you are up to date then nothing here is new to you.
To put it simply, this was a setup episode. Moving the pieces around the board so that they are ready for the next strategic attack. Because of this setup, little mythology was doled out. I continue to love learning the story of the island. It seems this will be the focus of this season. Season 1 was about the Flight 815 survivors, Season 2 was about the hatch, Season 3 was about the Others, Season 4 was about the Oceanic 6 and how they get off the island, Now in Season 5 it is about the Island itself. I am confident that this will be one of the most anticipated and intriguing stories that will be told on LOST. But it makes me wonder what story is left to be told in the 6th and final season? The only one I can think of is the story of Ben and Widmore.
Every LOST fan has theories they harbor. I have two theories I am working on right now.
1. Remember two episodes back when the show stops the whole episode for 45 seconds to deal with the fact Sawyer all of a sudden has a stick puncturing his foot? Why would you stop the momentum of a whole show just to address this? My feeling on it is that eventually while Sawyer is time hopping he will end up WAY back in time, have to have his toe amputated due to infection, do something heroic, and have four toed statue erected in his honor. What other conceivable reason is there for them to stop a show to address his foot injury?
2. Next up, Ajira Airways. If you haven’t been to the site, make sure to check it out. If Ajira doesn’t look familiar to you it is the name of the airline on the water bottle Sawyer and Juliet find in the canoe on the beach. My theory evolves from this. My guess is that Ajira is the airline that the Oceanic 6 take to get back to the island. No shocker there. But I’m gonna take it one step further and say that the people on the canoe behind Sawyer and Juliet were the Oceanic 6 trying to chase them down before they flashed away again. Here me out. We know that scene takes place in the future because the camp is on the beach and it has been tattered by weather and time. So why not three years in the future? You may ask now why would the Oceanic 6 shoot at them? I think they were warning shots to try and get them to stop. Obviously it wasn’t too hard of a shot because Juliet was able to at least injure one of them with only three shots. Is it far fetched? Yes. But it’s still fun to think about.
