Did you know that Asses and Elephants was almost this site’s name? I registered and owned it for a year and never used it. I knew I wanted to make a site that would try to reflect what I feel is a lot of people’s political frustrations. That feeling of the two political party system extremes pulling all of us with them to the fringes. Anyway I liked the site name because I wanted a satirical take on political parties. But I decided I couldn’t really maintain enough content solely on that subject. Some of the time I like to just want to write personal shit because it entertains me. If it entertains all of you that’s just a plus. So I ditched that domain name and chose this one instead.
I bring this up today because I got really frustrated with a certain current event circulating lately. One that I find highly hypocritical by both parties.
You see recently a weathered leather handbag the Democratic party likes to call Nancy Pelosi says the CIA never informed her of what interrogation tactics were being used in handling potential terror suspects. A claim being denied by members of the Republican party. As of now there is no clear way if knowing this is true.
Whether she was briefed or not, I don’t really give a shit. I have already resigned myself to the fact all those people on Capitol Hill are gonna lie to me. What bothers me is how both the Democrats and Republicans are using the CIA as a scapegoat. Remember Valerie Plame?
When she was outed by the Bush administration as an covert operative, Republicans discredited the CIA saying that she was never any such thing. We were to believe that the CIA was not able to tell us themselves whether or not one of their own employees was undercover? Instead, we are supposed to trust politicians? And the Democrats used this to their fullest to in turn discredit Republicans as not supporting our intelligence community.
Now years later, the tables may now be turned. Yesterday vampire tranny Pelosi and Democrats blocked a resolution to form a bi-partisan committee to find out if Pelosi actually attended meetings where these practices were discussed. If she has nothing to hide, than why not investigate it and clear her name?
That’s not to say that now, Republicans are the good guys. There are no good guys, just different levels of functional retardation. They are both more than willing to sell the CIA down the river, when their political capital is running on empty. I say fuck them both.
Because from Dec. 7th 1941 to September 11th 2001, nearly sixty years, it was our intelligence communities that kept us safe from foreign attack. Not Presidents, not Senators. So when I hear Dick Cheney and George Bush taking credit for “keeping us safe” the last seven years, you’ll have to forgive me if I scoff a bit. The people “keeping us safe” were the Valerie Plame’s of the world, and when all else fails the soldiers on the battle field. You never saw Ronald Reagan or Jimmy Carter taking credit for keeping the country safe on their watch during the height of the Cold War. The reason we have been safe the last seven years is the exact same as the last sixty, because we have kick ass intelligence resources at our disposal.
And everytime a politician wants to use them as a scapegoat it takes their eye off the ball for a split second. So please shut up, and stop protecting your tanned leather Pelosi asses and get the hell out of the way so the people that are actually watching my back can do their damn job!
