I’m afraid in my last post I didn’t pay enough homage to a certain part of it. You see I included a clip from La Blogotheque’s “A Take Away Show” series. This is a fantastic ongoing series they put out of great artists performing candidly in all sorts of different locations. But the reason I know about this series at all is because of Vincent Moon.
Now the name is probably not familiar, but trust me he is awesome. He is a French filmmaker which I first came across about a year ago, when the first clips of Arcade Fire’s Miroir Noir DVD were leaked out. I fell in love with the look and feel of it. It felt as if he really knew how to capture the artists in their most raw and natural state.
At that point I searched out more of his stuff and I became familiar with his La Blogotheque works. They really are small bits of musical/video art. They capture some of the worlds best artists in a light you may not have seen them in before.
