The Baby Is Coming!

If you are reading this then that means my wife is in labor with our first child. My goal is to update this space every hour or so to update all our friends and family.

So make sure you keep checking back and refreshing the page to get the next update. (No, I’m not insensitive. I pre-wrote this intro to save time on the big day.)

Logan Gerald DuBois was born at 3:48am a healthy 8.9 lbs. Momma is good. Pics to follow.

03:15- thinking of changing title of this post to “Baby Might Never Come”. This is taxing, I can’t even imagine what this is like for Meg. Pushing again got us nowhere. Got a quick 10 min nap.

02:40- resuming pushing

01:47- pushed from 00:30 till 01:30. Not much progress. She’s getting some rest now before making another run of it.

00:07- a new day and we are almost there. She is feeling a lot of back pain and we think she’ll start pushing soon. She’s fully dialated. Probably last update till baby gets here.

22:57- by the way Julie and Anna came by earlier and Julie totally choked on some Friends trivia. Just kidding, love you guys!

22:20- good news finally. During her nap she went from 6cm to 9! Baby is definitely coming tonight probably sometime around midnight. Finally some progress. Mrs Rodius was more concerned about the wedgie like feeling she was feeling. There was no wedgie.

21:53- sooooo hitting the wall. The Mrs has been able to sleep most of the last hour. She’s gonna need it. I rarely drink energy drinks but I am considering it.

20:55- just got checked and m’lady is now at 6cm and between 0 and -1 station. There was some swelling so we couldn’t tell if the baby had turned or not.

20:22- she’s finally napping after being awake for about 36 hours. Epideral is working wonders. Watching Modern Family to break the monotony.

19:54- slow and low is the tempo. Nurse change and still nothing really new to report. Next examination not for awhile.

18:22- examination complete. Only 4cm but the baby has half way turned. M’lady is now 90% efaced and -1 station for those hip on the lingo.

17:41- epic win! In-laws brought me left over wings. Good news for me, bad news for the night nurse with a keen sense of smell. Examination in 30mins.

17:19- holy crap can someone please get in here and make this ding-dong sound stop? The Rooter just stopped by to chat.

16:11- long time no update. Epideral is now in and she’s resting. Baby is turned wrong way so that’s why progress is so slow. Only 3cm. She is on her side now getting the baby to turn. She’s gonna take a nap.

15:04- my wife is the shit. She looks effortless right now even though I know she’s hurting. They turned up her drip so the contractions are right on top of each other.

14:43- labor room topic of conversation? Bikini Boy. Is that a real thing?

14:13- just got first official slap. Tapped on the sonic contraction meter to make a point of the sound it picks up. Not smart on my part.

13:30- mrs Rodius bought this relaxation CD called Sedona Spa. It’s like Mr Myagi just walked into the room and said some sage shit. Also just heard SWAT has my street shut down in front of my house.

13:03- bag is popped. Contractions coming stronger now. Still only 2cm. On the plus side she hasn’t cussed me out yet for being a male.

12:48- Uncle Flavio just stopped by to say hi to the momma. He’s a real good homie.

12:35- slow going. No real updates yet, other than my stomach didn’t really dig the grilled ham sandwich from the cafeteria. And $3.70 seems expensive for a bottle of naked juice.

11:48- now having to use pitosin(sp) as her contractions slowed down. There is a rumor that the doctor may be coming in to break her bag soon.

11:10- they got daddy the Rainman suite! We got the big LDR room. Even has a shower. Moms and brothers are here hanging out with us.

09:54- why is nothing at hospitals fast?was given and filled out our paperwork an hour ago. Why is it still sitting here?

09:27- finishing admittance paperwork then gonna get our room. Mrs Rodius’ contractions are 2 mins apart but only 2cm dialated.
